P6 Pulse was built by a planner, for planners.
I'm Gavin Morris, and I've spent more than 35 years in planning and project controls, starting as a Shell operations trainee in 1987 when plans were still drawn by hand. Since then I've worked for owners, managing contractors and contractors on energy projects across the North Sea, the former Soviet Union, the Middle East, West Africa, the deep Sahara and the Falkland Islands. Clients have included BP, Shell, Chevron, BG Group, Saudi Aramco and Dow, on projects ranging from minimum-facility offshore platforms to a $26 billion petrochemical complex.
Along the way I've led planning teams, set up planning departments from scratch, and designed corporate earned value systems. I've also always built tools of my own when I saw a gap, and in 2014 I led planning at a California start-up developing software to generate EPC schedules automatically. Most recently, I lead NEC4 planning on UK infrastructure work, and I'm completing an MBA with the University of East London's Class of 2026.
P6 Pulse comes from a simple observation. Every month, skilled planners lose days to the same grunt work: comparing updates, checking quality, rebuilding tables and writing the same report again. That time should be spent planning.
So I built a junior planner in a box. Upload your programme and P6 Pulse does the heavy lifting, producing the checks, dashboards and NEC reports automatically. That leaves you free to do what only a planner can: think ahead, solve problems and keep the project on course.
A word on methodology ...
While cutting edge AI has been used in the building of this site, the production of the data is, for the most part, rules-based, using exactly the same processes a planner would use in their monthly routine. As a rule of thumb, narrative prose (such as in the NEC report) is written by a state of the art LLM, but s-curves, tables and checklists are produced by sifting, pivoting, summarising and sorting data in the way we're all used to.
Know also that your use of this app is completely confidential. Along with our absolute rejection of data marketing, we won't be publishing client lists or name-dropping.
We are currently based in the UK but this programme works world-wide. We selected PayPal so you can pay in your own currency from almost anywhere. The NEC report should be just as useful to anyone outside of the UK, just as the US compliant DCMA checklist is a useful schedule health check tool not only in the US but for any schedule.
